Georgia softball vs UCLA score: Bulldogs drop Game 2 of WCWS super regionals to end season

Georgia softball's hopes of making the 2024 Women's College World Series ended early Saturday with the Bulldogs' second straight loss to No. 6 national seed UCLA in the Los Angeles Super Regional.

The 11 seed Bulldogs, who were run-ruled 8-0 in six innings at Easton Stadium on Thursday, were similarly maligned at the plate on Friday. They had just four hits on the day, falling 6-1 to the Bruins, who now make their way to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, for the WCWS.

UCLA wasted no time getting on the board, with Sharlize Palacios smashing a deep single to left field in the top of the first to score Maya Brady. Georgia got one back in the bottom of the first off an RBI double by Lyndi Rae Davis to score Sydney Chambley, but that would be all the Bulldogs could muster on the scoreboard. UCLA needed only Brady's RBI single to bring Thessa Malau'ulu across home in the top of the second to win.
