Georgia presidential recount on track to confirm Biden win even as Trump rages about fraud

The recount in Georgia’s presidential election is going just peachy — for Joe Biden, that is.

The battleground state’s Republican top election officials say it will meet a Wednesday deadline to certify the recount that will show Biden beat President Trump by more than 10,000 votes.

Any major issues? Nope.

“Nothing has jumped off the page at us,” said Gabriel Sterling, an aide to Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.

The state is investigating about 250 claims of double voting or other shenanigans. But even if some or all are proven, the irregularities are minor and wouldn’t affect the outcome.

Even as he hits dead ends in court, Trump is showing no signs of giving up his campaign to deride the results as fundamentally flawed.

He trashed Georgia Republican Gov. Brian Kemp as “hapless” and demanded he do more to overturn the results of the election.

The outgoing president also slammed Raffensperger as “obstinate” after calling him an “enemy of the people” over the weekend.

The intramural GOP feud is raging as Republicans face a pair of must-win Jan. 5 run-off elections for the state’s U.S. Senate seats.

Republicans need to hang onto one of the seats held by Sen. David Perdue and Sen. Kelly Loeffler or they will lose control of the entire Senate to Democrats. That would give President-elect Biden a much freer hand to implement his agenda.
