Georgia best available players in NFL draft: Top prospects for Day 2

Georgia football saw two players selected in the first round of the NFL Draft on Thursday night when tight end Brock Bowers and offensive tackle Amarius Mims were taken.

There's still more than a half dozen players who helped the Bulldogs win back-to-back national championships who hope to hear their names called in the next two days.

Which players are likely to go on Day 2 which begins at 7 p.m. Friday. Rounds two and three will be held in Detroit.

Here are the players from Georgia most likely to go next.

Georgia best available players Round 2 and 3

After three-time All-American Brock Bowers went to the Las Vegas Raiders at No. 13 and right tackle Amarius Mims was selected Thursday night by the Cincinnati Bengals at No. 18, Friday could be a big day for the secondary.

It is likely to start first with wide receiver Ladd McConkey. Cornerback Kamari Lassiter is projected by most to be a second-round pick and safety Javon Bullard seems a safe bet to also go sometime on Friday. Will three-year starting center Sedrick Van Pran-Granger and nickel back/safety Tykee Smith come off the board Friday as well?

Ladd McConkey, WR, redshirt junior

His crisp route running and quickness are what separates him from other receivers whether he lines up on the outside or in the slot. The Bills with the first pick in the second round could be interested.

Kamari Lassiter, CB, junior

Lassiter’s statistics don’t dazzle, but he was Georgia’s top cornerback last season when he had eight passes defended. The Cardinals and Chargers early in the second round or Falcons at No. 43 could be a possibility.

Sedrick Van Pran-Granger, C , redshirt junior

Three-year starter seems like a guy that could stick around the league for a decade because he has the type of makeup that coaches want in their locker room. Pittsburgh could be a landing spot.

Javon Bullard, S, junior

Two-year starter at safety and nickel back who was named MVP in both the Peach Bowl and national championship game in 2022. Jets and Lions have a need at safety.

Tykee Smith, DB, redshirt senior

The West Virginia transfer battled injuries early at Georgia, but became a starter in his final season at nickel back and had four interceptions. The Bills and Bucaneers could be in play.
