A new George W. Bush Presidential Center exhibit showcasing historically significant versions of United States founding documents is set to open in March.

The interactive exhibit, called Freedom Matters, will walk visitors through the experience of free societies, demonstrating the evolution, understanding and pursuit of freedom throughout history.

Freedom Matters will feature rare versions of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States and the Emancipation Proclamation. The exhibit also includes books by philosophers John Locke and Jean-Jacques Rousseau and a 14th-century copy of the Magna Carta.

The exhibit, open March 2 through Dec. 31, is made possible, in part, by the Harlan Crow Library and David Rubenstein, according to a Bush Center release.

This year also marks the tenth anniversary of the George W. Bush Presidential Center’s opening.

“The Freedom Matters exhibit will be a real treat for our visitors,” said Ken Hersh, Bush Center CEO and President. “Thanks to Harlan and David for opening their private collections of historic documents and artifacts for our audiences. The Bush Center is honored to celebrate democracy and fundamental freedoms. I can think of no better way to commemorate the Bush Center’s tenth anniversary than with a tribute to our Nation’s foundational values.”

The Bush Center, 2943 SMU Boulevard in Dallas, is open Monday-Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5 p.m.
