Gen V Sneak Peek: Sam Is Tormented by ‘Television’s Jason Ritter’ and The Deep Puppet (Exclusive)

Everyone likes Jason Ritter, the charming actor from shows such as Parenthood, Kevin (Probably) Saves the World and Joan of Arcadia, right? Well, if you’re Gen V’s Sam, you’re not such a big fan of the TV vet.

In TVLine’s exclusive sneak peek from this Friday’s episode of the Boys spinoff (streaming on Prime Video), Sam finds himself suffering from a breakdown involving visions of a puppet show starring Ritter (as himself) and a felt version of The Seven supe The Deep. And to make matters worse, the duo talk directly to Sam from the screen.

“Just leave me alone, television’s Jason Ritter!” Sam exclaims at the screen in frustration.

When Puppet Deep predicts that the docs will also hurt Emma, Ritter adds that it’ll be all Sam’s fault that he couldn’t protect his new friend. So what’s he to do?

“Think, silly. You know who hurt you, hurts everyone in The Woods… You know what you want to do,” Ritter says, earning another “Shut up, television’s Jason Ritter!” from tormented Sam.

Finally, Ritter cheerily proclaims, “You have to kill him!” (This advice has been brought to you by the letter K.)
