Game winners and season-highs: 10 standouts from boys lacrosse Shore Conference Tournament

It was a long time coming for the Christian Brothers Academy lacrosse team winning the lacrosse Shore Conference Tournament on Monday.

The SCT had a lot of future collegiate talent that showed out throughout the entire competition. The first round, quarterfinals, semifinals, and even finals had good performances. Here are 10 standouts from the SCT this 2024 spring season.

The Holy Cross commit was relatively quiet for most of the tournament after accepting a more defensive role. However, he scored the game-winning goal in the SCT final to beat Manasquan to complete his hat trick.

Nick Bounassi, Manasquan, Sr.

The High Point University commit and goalie was stellar for the entire SCT tournament. He had a clean sheet in the first round against Howell, only allowed one goal against Manalapan, and even made nine saves in the SCT championship.

He really flipped a switch in the SCT and played a pair of his best games. He scored a season-high five goals and eight ground balls tallied against Red Bank Regional in the quarterfinals. He also had four goals and three assists against Middletown North in the first round.

Brian Volpe, Holmdel, Jr.

He went off for a season-high seven goals to go with four assists in the first round against Manalapan to help the Hornets win.

Gabe Pape, Red Bank Regional, So.

The underclassman had four goals and one assist against Red Bank Catholic in the first round. The next round against Rumson-Fair Haven he had two goals and three ground balls.

Lukas Villa, Shore, Jr.

He had four goals, an assist, and a ground ball in the first round against Point Pleasant Boro.

The upperclassman had two goals and a ground ball in a first round win over Toms River East. He also had a goal and three ground balls in the next round against Manasquan.

Wyatt Capro, Wall, So.

His season-high came in a first round win over Middletown South when he scored six goals. He also scored three goals and had an assist against Holmdel in the quarterfinals.

Gavin Reid, Point Pleasant Boro, Sr.

At the attack position, he scored a goal for his team against Shore in the first round of the SCT.

Frank Tackett, Red Bank Catholic, So.

The midfielder led the Caseys with a hat trick and three ground balls against the Bucs in the first round.
