Gabby Petito’s mother tells Brian Laundrie ‘Turn yourself in!’ as she joins Twitter, tweets for the first time

Gabby Petito’s mother joined Twitter on Saturday, where she called for justice for her late daughter and demanded that Brian Laundrie turn himself in.

“Mama bear is getting angry!,” Nichole Schmidt wrote in her first-ever tweet.

“Turn yourself in!” she added in the tweet, which included a swearing, angry-red-face emoji.

Schmidt also said that Joseph Petito, her ex-husband and Petito’s father, “agrees” with her sentiment. She added the hashtags “#justiceforgabby” and “#americasdaughter.”

Schmidt’s tweet applied more heat to the search for Laundrie, who remained missing Saturday.

Her newly created account had more than 20,000 followers by Saturday evening. She describes herself as “a mom on a mission,” adding that “the fight for change and prevention will never end! My Gabby will never be forgotten!”

Joseph Petito retweeted his ex-wife’s message, writing, “Follow her to show your support for #gabbypetito”

Earlier Saturday, the grieving dad shared a photo of his 22-year-old daughter, whose body was found Sept. 19 near Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming weeks after she was reported missing. She’d been traveling with Laundrie, her fiancé, around the country in a van.

Joseph Petito said his daughter’s case has helped other people in troubled relationships.

“She is already saving lives. So many stories being sent to us about relationships being left with proper planning for safety, and people are being found due to her influence. We have much more work to do, but it’s a start,” Petito wrote.

Gabby Petito, from Blue Point, L.I., disappeared in late August, and her remains were found on Sept. 19.

On Aug 12, police in Moab, Utah pulled over their van after a 911 call from a witness who reported seeing a man hitting a woman.

Police camera video released Thursday shows Petito blamed herself for the altercation when an officer asked if Laundrie, 25, hit her.

“I guess, but I hit him first,” Petito told the Moab cop.

“Where did he hit you? Don’t worry. Just be honest,” the officer asked.

“Well, he grabbed my face,” the 22-year-old replied while crying and holding her jaw. She then insisted her now-missing fiancé did not hit or punch her.

“Did he slap your face, or what?” the officer asked.

“Well, yeah, he grabbed me with his nail, and I guess this is why I definitely have a cut right here because I can feel it when I touch it. It burns,” she said.

Moab police, who had previously released shorter clips of the stop, ultimately decided not to charge anyone as they classified the incident as a mental health crisis, not a domestic assault.
