Gabby Petito’s dad shares angel photo of his daughter after body is found
Gabby Petito’s father shared a photo showing his daughter in front of painted angel wings on Sunday after a body was discovered in Wyoming.
Joseph Petito captioned the Instagram image, “she touched the world,” along with a broken heart emoji.
He posted the photo shortly after the FBI confirmed a body found in rural Wyoming was consistent with a description of Petito.
Officials haven’t identified human remains, saying a full forensic report needs to be conducted. A cause of death was not released.
Petito’s family reported the 22-year-old missing on Sept. 11.
She embarked on a cross-country road trip with her fiancé, Brian Laundrie, in July. Laundrie, 23, returned alone to his parents’ home in Florida on Sept. 1.
Police have referred to Laundrie as a “person of interest” in the investigation. Authorities in Florida are now looking for Laundrie, whose family says they last saw him Tuesday.
