Fuzzy’s Taco Shop, Slim Chickens and 7 Brew Coffee coming side-by-side in Warner Robins

An Albany-based developer partnering to bring new drive-thru coffee shops to Macon and Warner Robins also is behind two new restaurants coming to Warner Robins.

A Fuzzy’s Taco Shop and a Slim Chickens are to join 7 Brew Coffee on 4.6 acres of vacant property at 4030 Watson Blvd. next to a Holiday Inn Express, said Matthew Davis, founder of Albany-based Davis Companies.

“We are very excited to develop a large, multi-tenant project right on Watson Boulevard, the main thoroughfare in Warner Robins,” Davis said. “We cannot say enough about the pro-business environment and how competent and professional Warner Robins permitting agencies have been to work with. We hope this is one of many more to come.”

The 7 Brew Coffee in Macon will be built on now vacant land at 1667 Bass Road.

“That site is in a very obviously high-growth area, affluent part of the market, which is exactly what we’re looking for,” Davis said. “We are very pleased to get a conditional use permit approval last week and the officials involved in that process really made it smooth, very helpful in making this go and we’re excited to get open quickly.”

Davis said he’s partnering with a leading restaurant franchisee, Richard Maddox, to expand the Arkansas-based drive-thru coffee shops in metro-Atlanta and south Georgia.

Davis Companies is “the exclusive developer for Fuzzy’s Taco Shop in the Deep South and then 7 Brew Coffee,” Davis said.

The company plans to develop at least 76 locations in Georgia and could develop up to 96 stores, he said.

In addition to Warner Robins and Macon, plans are already in the works for 7 Brew Coffee stores in Thomasville, Newnan, Snellville, Leesburg and “then spreading out from there,” Davis said.

Thomasville is expected to be the first location to open, followed by Warner Robins and then likely Macon, Davis said.

In addition to the Fuzzy’s Taco Shop coming to Warner Robins, the company may also develop up to four other locations of this Mexican restaurant brand in the Macon and Warner Robins area, he said.

A Slim Chickens, a fast-casual restaurant known for their chicken tenders and wings, is coming to Warner Robins.

The three restaurant concepts

7 Brew Coffee — Starting with seven coffees with a desire to serve premium coffee in record time, the first 7 Brew Coffee opened in Rogers, Arkansas in 2017. Today, with more than 20 shops, a major expansion also is planned in Florida with up to 165 stores, according to Florida Today.

“They’re not just coffee,” Davis said. “They do energy-infused drinks, smoothies, Italian sodas, all of your iced drinks. They have seven specialty drinks.

“They are drive-thru, a very vibrant atmosphere, very fast customer service, high energy, a very fun awesome brand.”

Fuzzy’s Taco Shop — This Texas-based restaurant chain offers Mexican fare and is known for their Baja tacos, queso, margaritas and beeritas.

“Fuzzy’s Taco Shop is out of Fort Worth,” Davis said. “They have 150 locations and we designed the first of the drive-thru and the prototype was built here and corporate liked it so much that they’re now going to use that in all their locations across the country.”

Slim Chickens — Known for their fresh chicken tenders and wings cooked to order and served with a choice of 17 housemade dipping sauces, the first Slim Chickens opened in Fayetteville, Arkansas, in 2003. There are more than 150 Slim Chickens in 26 states, with the company targeting to expand to 600 restaurant locations by 2025.

7 Brew Coffee is expected to open first on the Watson Boulevard location in Warner Robins, with the restaurants expected to open in the third quarter of 2023, Davis said. All are expected to be free-standing with each to have a drive-thru and a patio out front.
