Funny Video of ‘High-Speed Dog Chase’ Is Impossible To Resist

If there's one thing most dogs like to do, it's to play chase and run around trying to catch you or other dogs. Rocco the Husky's humans shared a video of him and some friends playing a game of chase on Thursday, March 14th, and these guys had a blast!

The video shows several dogs all running around at full speed chasing each other, and these dogs are super speedy! Make sure to have your sound on if you can because it makes the scene even better! I'm not sure what breed of dog the white dog is (maybe a Greyhound?), but he is uncatchable! Watch as the German Shepherd comes in hot!

People loved @Rocco's high-speed chase! The video racked up nearly 3 thousand comments, and some of them were pretty good. @jb36137 got more than 2 thousand likes for their comment, "German Shepherd was off duty, but clocked in REAL quick!" and Rocco's human replied, "He took us all by surprise!" @noyouare27 said, "And the Oscar for editing and sound effects goes to...", another commenter agreed, "Whomever did the sound effect...... nailed it! Just perfect!" @Elway Cleaver made me laugh with, "Even Shepherds have speed traps set up now!"

Which Dogs Run the Fastest?

As you could see from this video, dogs can really gain some speed when they run. Commenters said that the white dog was a Greyhound, the fastest of them all. But watching that German Shepherd run proves that they are extremely quick and agile too, so I decided to see just how fast they can run.

Puppy Simply broke it down for us all, "Greyhounds are considered one of the fastest dog breeds with speeds reaching up 40-45 mph on average. Not far behind them comes Salukis at 42 mph followed by Vizslas and Afghan Hounds, both clocking in at 40 mph each."

Where do the Shepherds fit into the mix? German Shepherds can reach up to 30 mph for short bursts of speed, but for the long haul, they run 16 mph....much more slowly than other dogs mentioned. This isn't a problem for Shepherds that works as K-9 cops because the average speed a human can run is only 6 mph.

Who are the slowest runners? It probably won't surprise you, "The slowest dog breeds include Basset Hounds, Bulldogs, and Chihuahuas, with speeds ranging from 5-10 mph."

Remember that these numbers are all based on averages, and that speed can be affected by a variety of factors like age, health, breed, and how much exercise a dog gets. I don't know about you, but I got tired just watching all of these sprinting pooches play!
