Funny Shih-Tzu Poodle Mix Refuses to Do His Business Unless the Door Is Closed

Just like humans, dogs can be very particular about how they want things. Cheddar Jamaal is a Shih-Tzu Poodle mix, and he knows what he wants and makes sure his mom does, too. She posted a video in mid-April of one of Cheddar's expectations, and it will crack you up!

In the video, mom opens up the door to let Cheddar out to do his business. She stands at the door and leaves it open as Cheddar looks back, waiting for her to shut it. The video's overlay explains what's happening: Cheddar won't go to the bathroom until she closes the door. The poor dog wants some privacy!

This is absolutely hilarious because I thought the same thing that Cheddar's mom says in her caption, "I can't stand outside which is open to the public, but he can bust in on me as he pleases." That's exactly what happens with my puppy, too! Commenter @Amelia Bedelia got more than 20.6 thousand likes when she pointed out, "Sometimes my business ain’t yo business." LOL!" @n.crump shared, "He kills me with that one paw in the air!" and Cheddar's mom replied, "That's how you know when he's serious haha!" and @peelahr added, "Lmaoo the look back with attitude is crazy!"

Is a Shih Tzu Right for Your Family?

While it seems like Cheddar is full of spunk and attitude, Shih Tzus are known for their friendly and cheerful personalities. They are one of the most affectionate dog breeds out there and overall are considered great family pets. That being said I should point out that they are small dogs - most weigh just 9 to 16 pounds at maturity - so they may not be the best dog for a home with very small children. Children aren't always gentle and don't pay attention to what's going on around them and can easily step on or fall on the dog and injure it without even trying.

Shih-Tzus are very outgoing and playful and love their families. They can also match their owner's energy level; they're versatile dogs because they can be lively and very active one minute, then ready to enjoy lazy days and being a couch potato the next. Since they only require moderate exercise, they are the perfect fit for those of us who also enjoy cuddling on the sofa too!

Shih-Tzus tend to be attention hogs and require lots of attention. This makes sense because they're considered one of the best companion dog breeds, and love being around their humans. If they don't get that attention, they can become destructive.

Overall, Shih-Tzus are known for having a variety of health issues, meaning lots of trips to the vet. Something to consider especially if vet care isn't in your budget.

There are always pros and cons with any dog breed, so make sure to do your research before bringing home a new pup, especially if you don't know anything about the breed. Those cons that you learn about may just turn you off to the dog you thought you wanted.
