When is the funeral procession for Miami-Dade officer? Which roads are affected?

Wednesday’s 10 a.m. memorial service at loanDepot Park for Miami-Dade police officer Cesar “Echy” Echaverry will be framed by two processions that will affect traffic.

Miami-Dade police say Echaverry was shot as he and other members of the Robbery Intervention Detail pursued suspect Jeremy Willie Horton on Aug. 15. Horton died in the exchange of gunfire. Echaverry died in Jackson Memorial Hospital on Aug. 17. He was 29 years old.

On Wednesday, the first procession will go from Vior Funeral Home, 291 NW 37th Ave., at 9:30 a.m. to Northwest Seventh Street then east to Northwest 14th Avenue. The procession will then circle loanDepot Park by going south to Northwest Sixth Street, west to Northwest 16th Avenue, south to Northwest Fourth Street, east to Northwest 14th Avenue and north to Northwest Sixth Street.

After the funeral, between 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m., the second procession will leave the Miami Marlins stadium on Northwest 14th Avenue, go west on Northwest Seventh Street to Northwest 17th Avenue and turn north to get on westbound State Road 836, the Dolphin Expressway, to the southbound Palmetto Expressway, State Road 826. Then, the line of cars will take the Palmetto down to State Road 874, the Don Shula Expressway, and stay on that road until the Southwest 128th Street exit.

Echaverry’s body will be loaded onto a plane at Miami Executive Airport, 12800 SW 145th St. Burial will be in Nicaragua.
