FSU baseball chosen to host regionals of 2024 NCAA Baseball Tournament

As Florida State baseball returns home from Charlotte, it will get ready to prepare its road to Omaha as one of the host teams.

The NCAA announced that Dick Howser Stadium is one of the 16 regional hosts of the 2024 NCAA Division I Baseball Championship. It will be the first time since 2018 that FSU will host regionals.

According to D1 Baseball, FSU's RPI was No. 8, and its strength of schedule was ranked 30th. Its resume includes sweeping the Florida Gators ― with the Gators ranked in the top 10 in two of those wins ― beating (then No. 6) Duke twice in a three-game series. Florida State started the season winning 18 straight games before suffering its first loss in its conference opener to Clemson, ranked fourth at the time.

Despite losing to mid-week teams like Mercer and Stetson, FSU finished the season strong with 42 wins, which tied it with North Carolina, the ACC regular-season champs. FSU is 27-4 at home.

The Seminoles went on a three-game run in the ACC Championship before falling to Duke on Sunday's finals.

FSU will wait to see which teams will be in its bracket. The selection show will begin on Monday at noon on ESPN2, and regionals are scheduled to start on Friday.
