From late Thursday night through Friday morning, temperatures in the Myrtle Beach area could be below freezing, the National Weather Service announced.

A freeze watch is in effect from 2 a.m. to 8 a.m. Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 29 to 31 possible, the NWS said.

The freeze advisory is over portions of southeast North Carolina and northeast South Carolina.

The NWS recommends bringing plants inside, and wrapping and draining outdoor water pipes to prevent freezing and possible bursting.

“Those that have in-ground sprinkler system should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing,” the advisory reads.
