Friday roundup: Seahawks blank Tigers, Beaufort scores late to edge Goose Creek
A roundup of Lowcountry high school scores from Thursday and Friday night plus statewide scoreboard:
Beaufort 32, Goose Creek 25: Samari Bonds scored on a 43-yard run in the fourth quarter to help the Eagles over Goose Creek for their second straight victory. The game was tied 25-25 going into the fourth quarter.
Bonds finished with 117 yards rushing and was 10-of-17 passing for 92 yards and a TD. Running back Jadyn Andrews carried it 22 times for 137 yards and two touchdowns for the Eagles.
Hilton Head Island 43, Wilson 0: Troy Timko rushed for four touchdowns as the Seahawks blanked the Tigers.
Jackson Bibee also had a TD pass for HHI.
Beaufort Academy 35, Greenwood Christian 14: The Eagles moved to 4-0 after a road win over Greenwood Christian. Devonte Green had two touchdowns. Jaxen Porter scored a TD and had two of the team’s three interceptions. Devin Fripp had a TD catch.
Hilton Head Christian 31, Ben Lippen 14: The Eagles jumped out to a big lead to defeat the Falcons.
Tyshon Mansell caught two TD passes and Reid McCollum had a defensive TD for the Eagles. Dylan Clark also had a TD run.
St. Andrews 44, Hilton Head Prep 0: The Dolphins dropped to 0-3 with a loss to St. Andrews.
Memorial Day 28, John Paul II 14: Memorial Day rallied from a 14-0 deficit to defeat the Warriors. Christian Tilton had a TD for JP II
Thomas Heyward 27, St. John’s Christian 20: The Rebels picked up their first win of the season.
Thursday
Bluffton 44, Frederica Academy 13: Owen Bayes threw for 377 yards and three touchdowns in the Bobcats’ victory over Frederica.
May River 44, Battery Creek 12: Quarterback Tanner Macy accounted for six touchdowns as the Sharks won their second straight game. Macy carried it 16 times for 267 yards, four touchdowns and was 4-of-9 passing for 138 yards, two touchdowns.
