Friday rewind: Beaufort edges May River. Beaufort Academy, Bluffton get wins

Beaufort 16, May River 13: Jadyn Andrews had a touchdown run late in the fourth quarter as Beaufort rallied past the Sharks for its third straight win. May River took a 13-9 lead with 5:54 but the Eagles marched down the field capped off by Andrews’ 15-yard run 4:26 left. Beaufort sealed the game with an interception on May River’s next possession. Andrews finished with 107 yards rushing and two touchdowns. May River quarterback Tanner Macy had a touchdown run to put the Sharks up 7-2 in the third quarter.

Beaufort Academy 28, Orangeburg Prep 21: Jaxen Porter scored with 36 seconds left as Beaufort Academy moved to 5-0 on the season. Porter finished the game with three touchdowns. Devonte Green had a 95-yard TD for BA, which trailed 21-14 at halftime. Dietrich Shuford sealed the game with an interception as time expired.

Bluffton 56, Battery Creek 21: Owen Bayes threw two touchdown passes and Jeremiah Curry had two TD runs for Bluffton.

Thomas Heyward Academy 34, Dorchester Academy 8: Tony O’Banner had five touchdowns in the Rebels’ win against Dorchester.

First Baptist 42, Hilton Head Prep 31: Cobi Riley threw three touchdown passes and ran two TDs for First Baptist. Hilton Head Prep tied the game at 28 in the third quarter but Marik Gibbs returned a kickoff 85 yards put the Hurricanes back up. AJ Barger had a big game for HHP, rushing for 203 yards, three touchdowns, catching four passes for 70 yards and a TD. He also had an interception on defense.

Hampton County 26, Hilton Head Island 3: Zion Dobson had two touchdowns as Hampton moved to 5-0 with a win over the Seahawks. Zedikyah Raymond had a defensive touchdown and Xaviar Garvin had a TD pass to Zamone Lofties.

Hilton Head Christian Academy 31, Northwood Academy 14: The Eagles built a 24-7 halftime lead in handing Northwood its first loss of the season. Dylan Clark had two touchdown runs and AJ Houpt had a 65-yard TD for HHCA. Ian Kelly also kicked a 30-yard FG.

Pinewood Prep 48, John Paul II 28: Will Watson threw two touchdown passes and Asa Windham accounted for two scores in Pinewood’s win over the Warriors. Grayson Salego added two touchdown runs for Pinewood. JP II played the game without standout Christian Tilton. JP II’s Brandyn Horton had a TD run and rerturned a kickoff for a touchdown.
