This past season, Keene, listed at 5-foot-11 and 180 pounds, only played four games and completed 60 of 83 for 647 yards and six touchdowns against one interception.
He helped the Knights clinch a spot in the AAC championship when he finished 15 of 19 for 129 yards and two touchdowns after starter John Rhys Plumlee left the game because of a hamstring injury in a 46-39 victory over South Florida.
Keene sat out the conference championship to keep his redshirt year.
As a freshman, he finished the season completing 173 of 272 for 1,730 yards with 17 touchdowns in guiding the Knights to a 9-4 record that includes wins over Boise State, Memphis and Florida.
Keene also notched wins over Cincinnati and Memphis this past season.
This guys a dawg, no pun intended. He’s been clutch for us and delivered every time he was asked to step up. Y’all got a good one

Should have been our starter, kid got ice in his veins, at his best when the game is on the line. He doesn’t fit our system, he is a pocket passer….our system needs a running QB
