Fresno Police officers hurt in crash on Highway 180. What preliminary investigation shows

Two Fresno Police officers suffered minor injuries in a crash on Highway 180 late Friday night.

Fresno Police Lt. Robert Dewey said the officers were traveling eastbound between Van Ness Avenue and Highway 41 around 11:50 p.m. when another vehicle made an unsafe lane change from the No. 3 lane of the freeway to the No. 1 lane and into the path of the patrol vehicle, resulting in the crash, according to preliminary investigation.

The officers and the driver of the other vehicle were taken to a local hospital for observation. There did not appear to be any significant injuries, Dewey said.
