French Bulldog’s Jealousy Over Sibling Sitting in Human’s Lap Is So On-Point

If you have more than one dog, you know that sibling rivalry is real, especially when it comes to vying for their mom and dad's attention. Oliver and Wilbur are two adorable French bulldogs who both love nothing more than getting to sit on their "human armchair", AKA mom and dad's laps. Their parents shared a video on Tuesday, May 21st of what happens when one of them realizes the other beat them to getting it, and it's too cute.

I tried to figure out who was who, and I don't want to call them by the wrong names, so I'll go with their colors. In the video, the white Frenchie claimed the human armchair and looks very content with himself. Watch the black dog's reaction, he's not happy with the situation. Sound on if you want to hear his adorable little whimpers of protest!

I'm betting this is an ongoing battle between Oliver and Wilbur! The white Frenchie has such a look of satisfaction on his face, and the black French Bulldog's stomps at the beginning were too cute! @Hannah H liked the stomps too and swooned, "The feet stomping at the start!!!" @Magik_Monk pointed out, "In this situation, one must create more lap! LOL!" and the dogs' mom replied, "And grow more hands too haha!"

Do French Bulldogs Make Good Pets?

While I'm not a fan of French Bulldogs, I'm one of the odd men out. For the second year in a row the American Kennel Club has crowned French Bulldogs the most popular dog breed. So, what is it that makes them so popular?

French Bulldogs, lovingly referred to as Frenchies, are known for their distinctive and adorable appearance; they almost look like little English Bulldogs with those large bat-like ears, big expressive eyes, and compact, muscular bodies. They are the perfect size for a lapdog and enjoy being couch potatoes just as much as they like running around. They also don't require a ton of exercise compared to other breeds, are great with other dogs and cats, and with kids as well.

If you're looking for a pet that loves cuddles, this breed is for you. They are super affectionate and love being around their people. They're loyal and despite their small size they're actually very protective of their humans and will bark at strangers.

Frenchies can be stubborn and independent, and they like to be in charge so they can come across as bossy. Their stubborn streak can make training a bit of a challenge. They have a mind of their own and will do what they want, when they want. They're also very vocal and will 'tell' you what they want, and loudly!

Overall, Frenchies make great family pets and have big, goofy personalities that people fall in love with. They're like the class clowns of the dog world! As with any dog breed you're considering making a pet, make sure to do your research and learn the good, the bad, and the ugly about them to see if they're a fit for your family.
