Freehold man killed in Route 1 crash in New Brunswick

NEW BRUNSWICK – A 65-year-old Freehold man was killed Wednesday morning when a car traveling in the opposite direction on Route 1 crossed over the median and struck his pickup truck.

Dennis Frick was pronounced dead at the scene, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone said.

Police responded around 7:08 a.m. to northbound Route 1 near the Morris Goodkind Bridge where arriving officers found an Infiniti had struck a Ford pickup truck, killing Frick, who was driving the truck, authorities said.

The driver of the Infiniti was uninjured. They were driving southbound on Route 1 and lost control of the vehicle, authorities said.
