Free community shred and e-cycle event April 20

PERRY TWP.The Better Business Bureau is offering a free community shred and e-cycle event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 20 in Canton Central Catholic High School’s parking lot, 4824 Tuscarawas St. W.

The event promotes identity-theft awareness and fraud protection by providing free on-site document shredding and e-cycling services.

Shred-it will be providing the document shredding services and eCycle Solutions of Ohio will be providing the e-cycling services. Accepted electronics include cable, CDs, cellphones, circuit boards, computers, fluorescent light bulbs, game consoles, ink and toner cartridges, IT equipment, keyboards/mice, laptops, modems, computer monitors, MP3 players, phone systems, printers, routers, satellite boxes, servers, speakers, telecom equipment, televisions, UPS units, and video games. No household batteries AA, AAA, D, C, 9volt or button.

Fees are as follows: fluorescent light bulbs: $1 for 4-foot tube or smaller; $2 for 8-foot tube; flat-screen monitor $5; rear projection monitor $20; TV flat screen $10; rear projection TV $20.

There is no charge for this event other than the fees for certain electronics listed above; however, monetary donations to the BBB Charitable and Educational Fund, Inc. are welcomed and appreciated.
