Frank Reich Reacts To The Eagles Hiring Nick Sirianni

Nick Sirianni is the new head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, leaving behind Frank Reich and the Indianapolis Colts after three strong years.

But Reich is far from disappointed at seeing one of his top staffers leave his team. Per Zak Keefer of The Athletic, Reich had only glowing things to say about Sirianni.

Reich praised Sirianni, calling him “a brilliant mind” and “a strong leader” who will thrive in Philadelphia. He also complimented the Eagles as a “first-class organization” and believes the two sides will succeed together.

“Thrilled for Nick and his opportunity to serve as the head coach of the Eagles. I spent six years coaching with Nick in two different organizations. He has a brilliant mind, he is a strong leader and he will relate well with the city and its fanbase…” Reich said, per Keefer. “Nick comes from a coaching family and this is his passion. He is going to a first-class organization and I’m looking forward to witnessing his success. I’m very appreciative of Nick’s contribution to the Colts over the last three seasons and I wish him and his family the best.”

Frank Reich and Nick Sirianni first worked together under Mike McCoy with the San Diego Chargers. In 2013, Reich was hired as QBs coach while Sirianni served as an offensive quality control coach. When Reich was promoted to OC in 2014, Sirianni replaced him as QBs coach.

Reich was fired after the 2015 season and became OC for the Philadelphia Eagles a few weeks later. Sirianni spent two more years with the Chargers before reuniting with Reich in Indianapolis in 2018.

Eagles fans have a ton of respect for Frank Reich and his contributions to their Super Bowl LII win. If Reich is giving Sirianni his vote of approval, Eagles fans might warm up to him a little faster.
