Fourth man associated with Salisbury ministry faces child sex abuse charges

A fourth individual has been charged in relation to the investigation of sexual abuse of minors at a Salisbury ministry.

According to a release from the Wicomico Child Advocacy Center, Frederick Lewis Montgomery was taken into custody on April 23 as a result of and indictment by the Grand Jury for Wicomico County. Montgomery was charged with the following crimes: Child abuse: parent, multiple counts of sexual offense in the third and fourth degree, two counts of second degree assault, and perverted practice.

The investigation revealed that Lewis was affiliated for several years with "New Dimension Family Ministries," located at 1907 Jersey Road in Salisbury. He routinely had access to minor children during this affiliation.

Earlier this year, three other people affiliated with New Dimension Family Ministries were charged with sexual abuse of a minor. In November of 2023, the Wicomico Child Advocacy Center began an investigation into Jessie Lee Scott and Major Leslie Purnell Sr. regarding the sexual abuse of a minor, which revealed they had sexually abused a child several years prior. In February of 2024, they were both charged with rape, sexual abuse of a minor and other related offenses.

According to the Child Advocacy Center, the investigation revealed an additional victim of sexual abuse. On April 4, Alonzo Leon Parker Jr. was arrested after he was identified by the victim as the person who abused him. Parker was charged with child abuse and multiple counts of sexual offense and assault, among other charges.
