The fourth is with this family. Illinois parents welcome baby boy named Luke

Never tell this family the odds.

On May 4, a day that is now globally known as “May the fourth” inspired by the famous catchphrase from “Star Wars,” an Illinois couple welcomed a baby boy that they already planned on naming Luke.

Luke Gray Sokolowski was born at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Illinois, to Matthew and Tamara Sokolowski. He weighed in at 9 pounds, 2 ounces and was 20.5 inches long.

“It seems like it was just meant to be,” said Tamara Sokolowski to USA Today, “It’s a name I’ve always loved.”

The new addition to the Sokolowski family donned a Baby Yoda-inspired crochet hat and lightsaber.

The couple are both avid fans of the “Star Wars” franchise.

“I’m an ’80s girl,” said Tamara. “I grew up with those movies.”

“I also loved Princess Leia and, of course, Luke was my favorite,” she said. “I’m definitely a fan of Luke,” Matthew added. “’Luke, I am your father.’”
