Four UW wrestlers ranked in final coaches poll, three in RPI

Mar. 14—The NCAA announced its final wrestling Coaches' Poll and RPI on Wednesday with four University of Wyoming student-athletes ranked.

Jore Volk (125) led the way. He vaulted up the rankings after winning a Big 12 Championship, which bolstered his record to 22-6 overall and 10-6 against ranked competition. Volk sits No. 3 in the RPI and No. 6 in the Coaches' Poll.

Joey Novak (197) moved up, as well, after placing fourth at the conference tournament. He's No. 16 in the RPI and No. 18 in the Coaches' Poll, boasting a 22-12 overall mark and a 7-11 record versus ranked guys.

Gabe Willochell (149) also maneuvered his way up after placing fourth at the conference tournament. He's No. 21 in the Coaches' Poll and No. 24 in the RPI, holding an 18-10 record with a pair of ranked wins.

Cole Brooks (141) rounded out the ranked Pokes. He checked in at No. 33 in the Coaches' Poll, ending the season with a 14-8 record and two ranked wins.

Volk, Novak and Willochell will represent Wyoming at their respective weights after all three earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships via their finish at the Big 12 Tournament.
