Here is a Lexington list and guide of the best weekend events around Central Kentucky on Friday, Saturday and Sunday if you are bored and need things to do from live music concerts, holiday Nutcracker ballet performances, Christmas holiday light shows, kid-friendly events such as pictures with Santa, holiday markets for Christmas shopping and theatre plays.

Jones Family Christmas Light and Music Show

Observe over 12,000 lights moving to the beat of your favorite holiday tunes at the Jones Family Christmas Light and Music Show taking place nightly from 6:30-9 p.m. through Jan. 1. It’s the ninth year for the popular Lexington holiday light show, that is put on by Ryan Jones, who is legally blind. Miracle On Third Street Christmas Party at the Lyric Theatre

The Lyric Theatre is hosting a Miracle on Third Street Christmas themed party with fun for the whole family on Dec. 16 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Activities include photos with Black Santa, an ugly sweater contest, Christmas cookies, holiday-themed games and more. Rock House Brewing Anniversary Celebration

Rock House Brewing will celebrate its six year anniversary with live music from Jen Tackett and Stoner Creek Shakedown on Dec. 16 at 6 p.m., a Coconut Monolith Noir draft and bottle release on Dec. 17 at 2 p.m., a Last Chance Makers’ Market on Dec. 18 at 2 p.m. and more. Bluegrass Youth Ballet: ‘Nutcracker in One Act’ at the Singletary Center

Bluegrass Youth Ballet will perform the “Nutcracker in One Act” on Dec. 16 at 7 p.m. and on Dec. 17 at 2 p.m. at the Singletary Center for the Arts, 405 Rose St. The shortened family-friendly show is being performed with younger audiences in mind. $20-$24.
