Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 is here and it brings a lot of new changes to the game. The theme of this season is ‘Myths and Mortals’ which will add Gods and mythical locations and weapons to the game.

Zeus, Hades, and other Olympic Gods are coming to the Fortnite island in the new season, bringing appropriately themed weapons, locations, and other rewards.

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 Characters and Battle Pass

The new Battle Pass includes seven Gods, of which Cerberus can be unlocked immediately upon purchase. Later in the season, Korra from Avatar: The Last Airbender will also be available to unlock, who brings new water-bending abilities to the game. The Myths & Mortals Battle Pass will be available till May 24, 2024, and will cost 950 V-bucks.

The following locations will be available in the new season:

  • Mount Olympus - Home of the Greek Gods

  • Grim Gate - The only way to get to the Underworld, protected by the three-headed Cerberus

  • The Underworld - Home of Hades

  • Brawler’s Battleground - Challenge Ares, the god of war, in the arena to the south of Olympus.

Ares will also be available as the Outfit of the April 2024 Crew Pack.

The new season will add plenty of rifles and SMGs, but the special godly weapons are the focus of the season. Here are some of the new weapons coming to the game:

  • Zeus’ Thunderbolt - Players can use the thunderbolt to rise into the air and hurl lightning at their enemies. The weapon can be picked up across the island or can be unlocked by defeating Zeus.

  • Gatekeeper Shotgun - The shotgun has been forged by Hephaestus for Cerberus but can be found across the island. The Mythic variant of the weapon can be obtained "from Cerberus rolling over". It fires in powerful three-round bursts.

  • Harbinger SMG - While its first shot is accurate, the Harbinger's successive rounds will be hard to control with the increased recoil and bloom.

  • Huntress DMR - This weapon comes from Artemis herself, and can be obtained by defeating Zeus or collected across the island.

  • Warforged Assault Rifle - Ares' favorite weapon, this weapon has a high damage, a high rate of fire, and a strong recoil.

Besides the new weapons, many from the previous season are also coming back. These are the weapons from season 1 that will be available again:

  • Hammer Pump Shotgun

  • Frenzy Auto Shotgun

  • Nemesis AR

  • Thunder Burst SMG

  • Reaper Sniper Rifle

  • Ranger Pistol

As far as weapon mods go, the season will add the Thermal Scope and Speedgrip, which add useful buffs to weapons. The mods can be found at Mod Benches, which are now inside Weapon Bunkers.

The Myths and Mortals season also gives players the power of flight, with the Wings of Icarus. While it will let you fly across the island, its power will recede upon taking damage. Besides it, Epic is also adding the chains of Hades into the game later on, which would be an interesting weapon when paired with God of War's Kratos.

Fortnite is available to download for free on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch consoles. An Android version of the game is available for smartphones.
