Former Wales footballer Jason Bowen says family ‘heartbroken’ by Motor Neurone Disease diagnosis

Former Wales footballer Jason Bowen has shared how his family are “heartbroken” by his Motor Neurone Disease (MND) diagnosis.

The father-of-three, 50, became emotional as he told BBC Sport how his loved ones are “trying to stay positive.”

MND is a rare condition that damages the nervous system.

It can significantly shorten life expectancy and eventually leads to death.

“I know further down the line things might get a bit more difficult for me, but I’ll meet them head-on and give them as best a go as I can,” Bowen said.
