Former Shocker Markis McDuffie has been named an All Star in the top professional basketball league in France.

McDuffie, a 2019 Wichita State graduate, ranks eighth in scoring in LNB Pro A, averaging a team-high 16.7 points and 5.5 rebounds for JDA Dijon Bourgogne, which is off to a 9-3 start and one game off the league lead.

The 25-year-old from Paterson, N.J. has carved out a successful pro career since averaging 18.2 points during his senior season to help lead the Shockers to the 2019 NIT semifinals. After a successful debut season in Hungary, McDuffie steadily rose the ranks the next two years playing in Italy, which helped to springboard him to one of the world’s top professional leagues in France.

McDuffie is currently playing in the same league as Victor Wembanyama, the 7-foot-3, 18-year-old averaging 23.3 points, 9.3 rebounds and 3.1 blocks who is widely regarded as the future No. 1 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.

The LNB All Star game is scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 29 in Paris, where McDuffie will compete for the foreigner team in the France vs. The World setup.

McDuffie has also been the team’s best player in the Basketball Champions League, as Dijon is poised to reach the play-in rounds with a chance to qualify for the Round of 16 play with a win in January.
