Former Fresno State star Derek Carr reached agreement Monday morning to sign with the New Orleans Saints.

The NFL Network said the deal is worth four years for $150 million with $100 million in total guarantees.

The soon-to-be signing of Carr to the Saints means he reunites with his first NFL head coach, Dennis Allen.

Carr tweeted out a video of Tyrann Mathieu walking to the 50-yard line in his first game as a Saint, his hometown. Carr tweeted the words “Who dat.”

Allen and the then-Oakland Raiders selected Carr in the second round of the NFL draft.

Allen was fired from the Raiders mid-season after a bad start.

Carr spent his first nine seasons with the Raiders in Oakland and Las Vegas, setting franchise records in passing yards and touchdowns.

Carr’s time with the Raiders came to an end when the franchise benched him for the final two games before the team released him Feb. 14.

He reportedly also met with the New York Jets and the Carolina Panthers.

Carr had a no-trade clause in his Raiders contract and visited with the Saints before he was released to explore a possible trade to New Orleans, but turned down a trade offer from the Raiders to the Saints, according to the Associated Press.

Instead, he wanted to test free agency, but ultimately will sign with the Saints. The Raiders will not get any future compensation out of Carr signing with the Saints.

It is a fresh start for Carr, who was looking for the right fit where now he will be throwing passes to wide receivers Michael Thomas and Chris Olave.

The Raiders will visit the Saints and Carr in 2024, according to the NFL schedule.
