“The National Wrestling Alliance is saddened to hear about the passing of the legendary ‘Beautiful’ Bobby Eaton,” the National Wrestling Alliance wrote on Twitter. “We send our love to his friends and family. His impact & legacy will always be remembered.”

The Midnight Express were inducted into the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame in 2009, which marked the crowning achievement in Eaton’s career. He clearly touched numerous other wrestlers and countless fans during his nearly 40-year career in the sport.

An outpouring of support for Eaton came in on social media on Thursday.

The countless messages that Eaton received on Thursday show just how widespread his impact was on professional wrestling. His legacy will surely live on through current and future wrestlers.
