A former NFL star has been fired by his employer, a sports media company, for allegedly attacking an employee.

Olin Kreutz, a former Chicago Bears center, allegedly “physically attacked” a coworker this week.

CHGO Sports, his former employer, has since parted ways with the former NFL offensive lineman.

“On Monday morning, an incident occurred in which Olin Kreutz physically attacked a CHGO employee,” the company said in a statement. “Effective immediately, Olin Kreutz is no longer with CHGO. Although we were shocked by the incident, we are thankful that the employee is OK. The health and safety of our employees is of the utmost importance and we will not tolerate any action that puts that in jeopardy.”

Kreutz appears to have responded directly to CHGO’s statement.

The former Chicago Bear quote tweeted the statement with a quote from Mike Tyson.

“Social media made y’all way too comfortable with disrespecting people and not getting punched in the face for it,” the quote reads.

Fortunately, the coworker who was allegedly “physically attacked” is okay.

Kreutz, meanwhile, played in the NFL for 14 season, 13 of which he spent with the Bears.
