Former NBA point guard and North Carolina Tar Heels standout Ty Lawson was reportedly arrested in Spain earlier this weekend.

Lawson, who last played in the NBA in 2018, was reportedly arrested following multiple alleged incidents overseas.

The former North Carolina standout allegedly injured a customer during an incident at a restaurant in Madrid. Police reportedly issued a “search and arrest” order for Lawson based on the customer’s description. The customer reportedly needed stitches after a glass was thrown at him.

Later in the day, Lawson was reportedly arrested when he was allegedly involved in an altercation on a central Ibiza street.

Lawson, 34, was a leader on North Carolina’s 2009 national championship team. He was a first round pick in the 2009 NBA Draft and played in the league until 2018.

The former ACC basketball star has since been playing overseas.
