Former Giants player Travis Rudolph accused of murder in Florida

Travis Rudolph, a former wide receiver for the New York Giants, was arrested in Florida Wednesday morning on murder charges.

Rudolph, 25, was arrested Wednesday morning in Lake Park after reports of a double shooting, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. One man was dead at the scene and another was taken to a nearby hospital.

Rudolph, a former Florida State star joined the Giants as an undrafted free agent in 2017. He also played with the Miami Dolphins and Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Canadian Football League.

Rudolph is being held in Palm Beach County jail without bond.

No other information was released about the shooting.

In 2017, Rudolph’s father Darryl was killed in an accidental shooting at a West Palm Beach strip club where he was making repairs.

Rudolph, the cousin of former NFL star Devin Hester, previously made headlines as an undergraduate when he was the subject of a viral news story when he was photographed eating lunch with an autistic elementary school student.
