Morice Norris had Fresno on his mind.

He has a good explanation for that.

“Real Fresno native,” he said while sporting Fresno on his shorts following Fresno State Pro Day on Monday afternoon. “Real 559. That’s what we do. Rock out.”

Retro Collection is the company that provided the custom shorts for the former Sanger High and Fresno State defensive back.

Norris was one of many former Bulldogs that participated at Pro Day leading up to the NFL draft late April in Detroit.

Twenty 20 NFL teams were in attendance that included the Las Vegas Raiders, Los Angeles Chargers and San Francisco 49ers.

Norris felt he did well in front of the scouts that were there. He cited the vertical jump that he did well in.

Unofficially, Norris had a jump of 38, the highest among the Bulldogs.

He feels playing basketball in the past helped him and hopes NFL teams take note of that.

“A lot of basketball stuff translates to the football field,” he said. “I think my basketball background really helped me excel on the football field in a lot of areas.”

His 40-yard dash time was 4.52

Norris said he had dinner with the Detroit Lions on Sunday.

“We’re going to wait and see what happens on draft day,” he said.

Other former Bulldogs at Pro Day LB Levelle Bailey, WR Erik Brooks, DB Steven Comstock, LS Nick D’Ambra, WR Jaelen Gill, DL Johnny Hudson, OL Jacob Isaia, DB Carlton Johnson, DL Isaiah Johnson and OL Tyrone Sampson.

Johnson had the fastest 40 time, unofficially running 4.28.
