Former EastEnders star Maisie Smith appears to confirm movie role reports
Former EastEnders star Maisie Smith appears to have landed her first major movie role.
The actress made her exit as Tiffany Butcher from the BBC soap over a year ago, and now it seems she's about to make the leap to the big screen.
According to The Sun, Smith will star in Bermondsey Tales: Fall Of The Roman Empire, a gangster movie that will also star Alan Ford and Adam Deacon. She will apparently play a leading player in a mob family, with filming due to begin after the summer.
Smith herself appeared to confirm the news in an Instagram Story.

As well as EastEnders, the actress has appeared on Strictly Come Dancing, and last year confirmed she was in a relationship with Strictly co-star Max George.
Last month, Smith addressed the age gap between her and George, with the latter 13 years her senior.
"If it wasn’t that, it would be something else," she told The Sun. "People don’t understand what goes on behind closed doors in a relationship, and I think they also forget that I’m a consenting 21-year-old woman who’s actually been working longer than Max!

"I don’t notice the age difference and neither do my friends or family. My mum Julia is the one who reads through all the comments. I got a message from her yesterday, saying: 'Just ignore them, you two were made for each other.'
"I think that just puts it into perspective. I really don’t care what a random person thinks of my relationship when everyone I do care about is incredibly supportive. I’ve been in the business long enough to know you have to have a thick skin."
