On Sunday, fans saw Mike McCarthy’s Cowboys revert back to Jason Garrett era in the team’s 23-17 playoff loss to the 49ers. And one former Dallas defender and ESPN personality is calling for the coach’s job.

Marcus Spears was fired up following the Cowboys Wild Card L. Tweeting, “Get rid of the Coach!!! No way bro No damn way.”

Dallas lost to the sixth-seeded Niners at home in its flat playoff performance. From the word “go,” the Cowboys were not able to match San Francisco’s physicality. And even when the 49ers lost two key players late to injury, McCarthy’s team couldn’t take advantage.

Perhaps the biggest critique of McCarthy in the loss, was the Cowboys final drive. Clock management once again bit the coaching staff running an ill-advised quarterback draw in the final seconds with no timeouts. After which, the ball wasn’t able to get spotted in time for one last play.

While the disappointing loss isn’t completely on McCarthy, he didn’t exactly do his team many favors. The Cowboys’ multi-million dollar men on offense: Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott and Amari Cooper didn’t make the plays that their billing would suggest.

Still, the Cowboys were sent home by Jimmy G and the 49ers due to symptoms that plagued the team most of the year.
