Former Clemson basketball star Amari Robinson signs pro contract with Italian Serie A1 league

CLEMSON — Former Clemson women's basketball forward Amari Robinson signed her first professional contract to join Lupe Basket in San Martino di Lupari in the Italian Serie A1 in Italy.

Robinson spent five seasons with the Tigers, averaging 12.5 points, shooting 47.6% from the field and 30.4% from 3-point range, and 6.2 rebounds across 152 games (151 starts). She is third all-time in total points (1,900) and rebounds (949) in school history.

The 6-foot forward earned back-to-back All-ACC second-team honors this season after setting career highs in scoring average (17.3 points), field-goal percentage (53%) and rebounds (6.6). She is one of six Clemson women players all-time to earn multiple All-ACC honors.

Robinson was also the only player in the ACC this season to score at least 35 points multiple times. She dropped 35 against Georgia State on Dec. 16 and set a single-game career high with 37 vs. Syracuse on Jan. 14, where she shot 14-for-19 from the field.

Robinson will join Lupe Basket later this year. Her signing marks seven straight seasons that a Clemson women's basketball player has gone pro, joining Sirah Diarra, Aliyah Collier, Kobi Thornton, Tylar Bennett, Delicia Washington and Hannah Hank.
