Former Blue Jackets forward, Dublin native Trent Vogelhuber to coach AHL All-Stars

With the Cleveland Monsters owning the top record in the American Hockey League's North Division (20-7-1-0 entering Sunday), second-year coach Trent Vogelhuber has been appointed coach of the North Division squad in the AHL's All-Star Classic Feb. 4-5 in San Jose, California.

The AHL’s youngest head coach at 35 years of age, Vogelhuber has amassed a winning percentage of .570 (53-39-6-2) since taking over the Blue Jackets top affiliate. Vogelhuber was hired by the Jackets in June of 2022 following four seasons as an assistant with Cleveland.

Originally selected by Columbus in the seventh round (211th overall) of the 2007 draft, Vogelhuber posted 28-45-73 with 191 penalty minutes and a +8 plus/minus rating in 267 AHL appearances as a forward for the Springfield Falcons, Lake Erie Monsters, and San Antonio Rampage, spanning parts of seven seasons from 2011-18 and helped the Monsters claim the 2016 Calder Cup as AHL Playoff Champions.

He was born in Northeast Ohio and grew up in Dublin.
