Former Bachelor Juan Pablo Galavis’ Daughter Auditions for American Idol — Did She Make It to Hollywood?

Ready to feel ancient? Juan Pablo Galavis’ daughter Camila Galavis, who was just four years old when her father served as The Bachelor way back in 2014, appeared as a contestant on Sunday’s American Idol.

“You know what it’s like to be on television, and you’re trying to throw her in this lion’s den?” Katy Perry asked Juan Pablo, who explained that he’s actually been putting off Camila’s musical aspirations until he felt she was “ready.”

Ready or not, the 14-year-old high school student auditioned for the Idol judges with a charming, breathy performance of Joaquina’s “Rabia.” There’s an undeniable Selena Gomez quality to Camila’s voice; it’s not particularly strong, but it’s pleasant enough.

Had Camila’s father not been an ABC alum (and wasn’t sitting five feet away from the judges with tears in his eyes), this probably would have been a slam-dunk no. The judges would have noted Camila’s potential and told her to come back in a few more years — which is exactly what Lionel Richie did, giving Camila her only “no.”

It was a “yes” from Katy, despite her concern about Camila’s vocal limitations, and another “yes” from Luke Bryan, even though he admitted that she’ll likely get “swallowed” by the competition’s stronger singers. Luke was originally a “no,” but he conceded that the right producer could easily cut a hit record for Camila. Similarly, Katy flipped her vote to a “yes” after mentioning that Spanish music is the industry’s fastest growing genre, and Camila is “authentically that.”
