Forecasters: Tender plants could freeze on Wednesday night, Thursday a.m.
LANSING — A freeze watch will be in effect for the Lansing area from late Wednesday night through Thursday morning.
A cold night is expected Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Low temperatures will reach the 20s in many areas. Early season tender vegetation like flowers and fruit trees that are budding may be susceptible to the cold. #wmiwxpic.twitter.com/Fm0GYlseL6

The National Weather Service said temperatures could fall to 25 to 30 degrees in parts of central, south-central, southwest and west-central Michigan. That's cold enough to kill crops and other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage uninsulated outdoor plumbing.
Growers should take steps to protect vulnerable plants, the weather service said.
