Ford Fireworks named a top place to see fireworks by USA TODAY readers

We realize we are biased, but we should be No. 1. The Ford Fireworks have been named the No. 2 best place to see fireworks in USA TODAY's 2024 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.

"The Ford Fireworks show in Detroit is so big that it takes not one, not two, but a total (of) three barges to hold the pyrotechnics," the award says. "In addition to the colorful display exploding above the Detroit River, spectators can enjoy live music and plenty of food and drinks."

The USA TODAY 10Best Readers' Choice Awards highlight the very best in travel, food + drink and lifestyle. Every week, USA TODAY 10Best invites a panel of industry experts to nominate their favorite points of interest and attractions across a wide range of categories. 10Best editors then vet these nominations and select a final set of nominees to be presented to the voting public for a period of four weeks.

The Ford Fireworks will take place starting at 10 p.m. on June 24. Produced by the Parade Co. in collaboration with Zambelli Fireworks, the free show, this year themed "Color the Sky with Sunshine," is expected to feature more than 10,000 pyrotechnics and a musical accompaniment.
