Last weekend, Jackson State moved to 2-0 on the season and 6-3 overall under Deion Sanders. Thus far, the “Coach Prime” era is off to a good start.

With his program playing well and Florida State struggling, Sanders is seeing his name linked to the Seminoles. It’s no surprise either.

Sanders is passionate about his alma mater, and has interviewed at FSU once already. On his show earlier today, Rich Eisen tried to make a case for why Sanders could be successful in Tallahassee.

“The last thing, in terms of anybody [worrying] about how serious he is,” Eisen said. “People are asking ‘are you really gonna coach or are you gonna be a sideshow?’ That’s what his whole life has been, Being called a sideshow and then all he does is be a professional and crush it.”

To be clear, it would be a pretty big risk for FSU to hire Sanders now considering how little experience he has. Maybe in a year or two, it would make more sense.

Then again, with how things have gone for the Seminoles over the last few seasons, maybe taking that leap of faith and bringing in “Prime Time” will work out better than anything they’ve tried thus far.
