Michelle Keegan revealed she had to overcome a serious fear of heights while filming Fool Me Once.

Speaking about the Netflix series in an interview with OK!, the actress explained she had struggled with filming the show's helicopter scene due to her phobia.

"I've been in a helicopter before, but I was strapped in and I wasn't flying and there were more people in it because it was a helivac, a big, big helicopter," Keegan said.

"But this one, it was me, the pilot and a cameraman in a tiny helicopter and a see-through floor. Especially because I'm scared of heights!"

Thankfully for Keegan, filming took place on a "really beautiful day" which meant she was able to remain calm while in the aircraft.

"I got over that fear halfway through, then I got given the wheel. But it was fun. It was really fun," the Brassic star said, adding that she had "no choice" but to face the fear while filming.

"I think I just didn't think about it, I just strapped myself in and off we went."

Based on the Harlan Coben novel of the same name, Fool Me Once follows the story of Maya Stern (Keegan) who sets out to investigate the death of her husband Joe (played by Richard Armitage).

However, things soon take a sinister turn when Maya notices her supposedly dead husband in their house on the nanny cam.

Joe's 'murder' isn't the only death to have shaken the family either, as Maya's sister was also killed and she wonders whether or not the two killings are linked.

Danya Griver and Daniel Burt star as Maya's niece and nephew Abby and Daniel, while Joanna Lumley Adeel Akhtar, Emmett J Scanlan, Dino Fetscher, Jade Anouka, Natalie Anderson, Marcus Garvey and Hattie Morahan also feature.

Fool Me Once is available on Netflix.
