The Very First Bite

While we may try a new food from time to time, it is impossible to remember what your first taste of basic foods was really like. The First Taste, which premiered at TEDxSydney on Saturday, attempts to remind us.

The film, beautifully shot at 500 frames per second, captures children's reactions to their first taste of a range of foods. The adorable kids pucker up while trying a lemon, celebrate a bite of yogurt and shake their head at the taste of an anchovy.

A collaboration of Saatchi & Saatchi and cinematographer Hugh Miller, the project was inspired by Saatchi & Saatchi's creative director Matt Gilmour's two-year-old daughter whose facial expression clearly showed her true feelings toward a bite of gherkin.
