Last Friday, Dominique Ansel closed temporarily, but has finally re-opened its doors. To celebrate, Dominique Ansel has unveiled a Rocky-themed Cronut. The infamous wait for a Cronut is back!

Where To Get Free Food On Tax Day

After doing taxes, we understand if you want to eat your feelings. Singing at the Hard Rock Cafe will get you a free dinner entree. Until April 13th, enjoy a free small cup of McCafe coffee at McDonalds. Arby's will offer a coupon for curly fries on their website before tax day.

The Importance of Vidalia Onions

With the resurgence of spring comes fresh flowers, April showers and Vidalia onions? Apparently farmers are very competitive about getting their Vidalia onions out on the market first. Several onion growers even went to court last year after some farmers wanted to send out onions earlier than usual. Vidalia onions are only grown in the south and bring in $150 million a year to the growers.

Fewer Foodborne Illness Outbreaks

A recent report by the Center for Science in the Public Interest has found that the CDC has been solving and reporting fewer foodborne outbreaks in the last 10 years. The findings saw that the outbreak reports have dropped by 42 percent from 2002 to 2011. This is definitely promising news, but the paper also found that outbreaks are not reported as frequently as they used to be.

Cronuts are back!

After a two-day closure, Dominique Ansel Bakery has re-opened to an even greater Cronut demand. The line for Cronuts today is equally as long as it has ever been, but that's not the only sweet news. It's free cone day at Ben & Jerry's!
