Ready for ice cream that tastes like vegetables? Haagen-Dazs is trying something new in Japan by debuting Tomato Cherry and Carrot Orange ice cream flavors. The ice cream actually does have less milk fat than the typical dessert.

Food Shortage Risk

New research has found that in just a few decades, food shortages could become more serious and lead to conflict. Resources like land, water and energy might not be able to support a population of potentially nine billion, according to the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). According to a senior advisor at the USAID, growing more profitable crops like chili peppers instead of corn could help to address the potential issue.

A recent study has found that the supplement glucosamine, often taken from shellfish, helped to extend the life of mice by 10 percent. The scientists believe that the glucosamine makes the body burn off more protein, which can aid weight loss and potentially prevent high blood pressure and diabetes.
