Starbucks Restaurant

Starbucks plans to open its first restaurant in Los Angeles on June 12th. La Boulange will offer breakfast, lunch, dinner and even offer baked goods from La Boulange Bakery, which Starbucks has owned since 2012.

The Sriracha Exhibit

Until July 12, Sriracha is being honored at the Chinese American Museum in Los Angeles. Thirty different artists created work inspired by both Sriracha and Tapatio, a very popular hot sauce. The exhibition is called LA Heat: Taste Changing Condiments.

The Food Intolerance Boom

Consumers just love their foods free from allergens. Sales of foods free from things like nuts and wheat have increased by 50 percent in only two years. The market research firm Kantar found that the "free from" market was worth about £360 million (or over $600 million).

Maya Angelou

The recent death of Maya Angelou has been a huge loss to the world. Angelou was a well-respected writer, poet and activist, but many people don't know that the Renaissance woman was also an excellent cook. Angelou was fascinated by foods from all over the world and loved to eat as she traveled. Her dinners in New York were beloved as well.

Ratatouille Theme Park

This summer, Disneyland Paris will unveil a Ratatouille theme park, which will feature a restaurant called Bistrot Chez Remy and a ride with 3D animation. The park will also allow the customer to see at the eye-level of a rat.
