The Hidden Danger of Sodium

Americans are eating way too much sodium. The average American consumes about 3,300 milligrams of sodium daily, but experts recommend eating less than 2,300 milligrams. The problem is that nearly 80 percent of the sodium comes from restaurant meals and processed foods. A blueberry muffin can have nearly double the salt of a serving of potato chips! The good news is that Britain has managed to lessen sodium consumption by categorizing processed foods and asking companies to reduce the sodium in their products. British sodium consumption has dropped by 15 percent.

What is Clean Eating?

Turns out clean eating is just one big umbrella term for being aware of what you eat and consuming the healthiest food you can find. The term just suggests eating fewer processed foods and instead consuming healthier foods like fruits and vegetables. Clean eating is often about looking for organic foods. Meat can still be included in a clean eating plan as long as it is grass fed or raised in a humane way.
