Magical Ice Cream Changes Color As You Lick

We've always been a fan of ice cream, but this news gives us even more reason to celebrate the treat. Now, the dessert is magical—literally. Spanish physicist Manuel Linares says he's created an ice cream that actually changes colors when you lick it. That's right, it's a scoop that transforms as you eat. Linares calls it Xamaleón, which is a play on the Spanish word for chameleon.

So, how does it work? The ice cream that tastes like a mixture of different fruits starts as a blue color. Then, it gets sprayed with what Linares calls a "love elixir" that reacts to changes in temperature and saliva. So when you lick it, the color transforms into purple, and then pink in about 10 to 15 seconds. Linares' formula for his elixir is a secret, but according to The Daily Mail, he says it's made from all natural ingredients. Right now customers at his shop in Barcelona can get their hands on this magical ice cream, but don't worry, you may be able to taste it at some point too—Linares wants to find buyers so he can sell the ice cream abroad.

The physicist was inspired by a British ice cream maker named Charlie Francis who created fluorescent ice. According to Engadget, this is just the beginning of Linares' plans. He's hoping to create an ice cream that turns from white to pink, and another one that will glow when it's put under ultraviolet light! We're not sure about you, but we're pretty excited for that.
